Chicagoland Weight Loss Challenge and CL Nutrition started in the spring of 2008 with 6 challengers in the first Weight Loss Challenge. The first night of class, only one showed up. That was how it all started.
The Crystal Lake Park District Weight Loss Challenge started the summer of 2008 with 86 challenges in two classes at Park Place. Over $1000.00 was awarded to the biggest losers and the WLC Program was a smashing success, with over 500 lbs lost!
Lake In The Hills Park District started in the fall of 2008 and Huntley Park District in winter of 2009. Buffalo Grove, Wauconda and Cary Park Districts were added in the summer of 2009 with over 250 participants competing for $6200.00.
The Fall 2009 Weight Loss Season has over 550 challengers in nine park districts and two classes at CL Nutrition as well. Algonquin, McHenry and Island Lake Park Districts started this fall. The participants lost over 4,000 lbs, 2700 inches and won $12,500.00! it was totally awesome for all the participants
The Fall 2010 Weight Loss Season starts in September with over 1200 participants in 27 park districts, two home classes, one church, two companies and one community center. We expect to lose over 8000 lbs and give away over $25,000 in prizes. See the article on this blog.
